New measures for the safety of new repentant terrorists

Ech-Chorouk, May 03, 2007

According to well-informed sources, security authorities have taken a set of measures for new repentant terrorists. They give them shelters and allow their families to visit them.

In addition, instructions have been issued to speed up the settlement of repentant terrorists’ legal situation.

Many current terrorists started getting in touch with repentant ones and their families in order to surrender, the same sources said. Observers expect that the terrorist organisation would be divided into small groups.

Repentant terrorits will not go to jail till investigations are over. They will stay in “safe” places, said well-informed sources.

More terrorists surrender for fear of their leaders

More terrorists start to call their families after April 11th attacks in order to surrender, especillay when the government has confirmed that terrorists still have the chance to join the National Reconciliation.

Authorities did not reveal the number of recent repentant terrorits. Terrorists’ families say they are in touch with their terrorist members. According to security sources, these terrorists are afraid of being asked by their leaders to carry out suicide bombings attacks.

Analysts said the elimination of prominent terrorists such as Saioud Samir, alias Samir Abu Moussab would lead to divide the terrorist organisation into independant groups. This division would create conflicts having negative impact on terrorist action, analysts said.

“al-Qaida” in Algeria has started recruiting jobless young people, delinquents and drugs addicts who are not involved in politics nor in religion; which reflects, analysts say, the failure of “al-Qaida” in recruiting people of high instruction and religious knowledge level.

Arrested terrorists say they don’t know each other

According to investigations, the terrorist organisation has taken care of some poor terrorists’ families and exert pressure on them if they want to give up terrorist action.

Some arrested terrorists said they used phones in their work and they did not know the people who were dealing with them except one person. “We used to go to an isolated place and find bombs there. Then, we take the bombs to another isolated place”, said some arrested terrorists. “Or, we go to that place, find a hidden bomb and put it in the targeted place”, they added. Most of arrested terrorists said they received orders by phones from unknown people.
