A cry for help from detainee A – HMP Full Sutton

To Sister Wendy

From Detainee A, MX8754,
Incarcerated in HMP Full Sutton, York, YO41 1PS.

I must admit you have raised my morale in this confined unit. What has happened to us is very bad. We are now called by the media “preachers of hate”. Last month we were called “a risk to national security”. Basically, we are scapegoats.

They have dragged us here from our own homes to a high security jail for convicted and dangerous criminals and guess what? – we are now in a special security unit! This unit was closed 10 years ago. Now it has reopened just for us – away from our families, isolated from the world outside. We hardly see the day light. It is so dark here day and night.

Our families can’t visit us because we are so far from them. Plus they have to be cleared by the Home Office and this takes at least 3 to 4 months.

Pray for us, sister, and try to speak about us to the outside world for the injustice we suffer under the hands of this Government.
