Booby-trapped car blast kills 8 and injures 19 in Boumerdes

The vacationers spending their holidays in the coastal locality of Zemouri in Boumerdes central province have packed their suitcases and left the flats they booked to spend their summer holidays, following a suicide attack targeting the center of Coast Guards, killing 8, and wounding 19. So a booby-trapped car has exploded last Saturday night at a beach in the coastal town of Zemouri, near Boumerdes. The explosion has targeted the National Gendarmerie elements, Coasts Guards, and the emergency services. According to eye-witnesses, a deafening explosion has been heard. The vacationers and the residents near the blast have rushed to the explosion place. Dead corpses have been seen near the centre of Coast Guards, ferrous pieces have been noticed strewn over too. Later, they have discovered that booby-trapped car has been set off close to the centre of Coasts Guards. The probe has unveiled that the powerful blast caused a hole at the building of Coast Guards, damaging the equipments stocked in. Contrary to the majority of vacationers coming from other provinces, who left the town, the residents of Zemouri, have not been so shocked by such a criminal act, they have been seen heading to the beach, while the fishers have resumed their activities.
