Trade consultancy bureau inaugurated at US Embassy in Algiers

The US interested in several economic sectors in Algeria says Secretary for Trade Promotion

Mr. Israel Hernandez, the US Assistant Secretary for Trade Promotion, has announced that the US does not focus only on hydrocarbons investments in Algeria, but also in investing in several sectors.“The trade exchanges between Algeria, and the US, are unbalanced,” Mr. Hernandez told a press conference yesterday at the headquarters of the US Embassy in Algiers, pointing out that the US economical system and the affairs climate encourage the companies willing to engage in foreign investments. Mr. Hernandez has unveiled that the objective of meeting Algerian officials, is to launch a deep debate about the foreign investments in Algeria. On the occasion of his visit to Algeria, the same speaker has announced that a trade consultancy bureau has been inaugurated; it is headquartered at the US Embassy. “The Algerian economy is disposed to growth, however, there are few companies operating in non-hydrocarbons sectors in Algeria,” said Mr. Hernandez. According to the same source, there are several sectors the US is interested in, as like the infrastructures, tourism, health, agriculture, education, technology, and air transportation.
