Security cooperation between Algeria and Germany

German Interior Ministry spokesman discloses, in a press statement, yesterday, Germany and Algeria intend to reinforce their security collaboration and cooperation in fight on terrorism through a work group including members of police and intelligence services.
According to German magazine “Der Spiegel” Algeria and Germany will set up a joint strategy to struggle against extremism. The same source affirmed that August Hanning, Secretary of State at the German Federal Interior Department, after his visit to Algeria last week, delivered authorities a list containing Algerian supposed terrorists. Germany is ready to extradite suspected people on condition that they would not be ill-treated or tortured. In addition, Germany and Algeria are expected to sign a security agreement next autumn.
