French Employers cancel their visit to Algeria

The French Business Confederation, Medef international, decided to postpone a visit to Algeria scheduled initially on the upcoming November 12 to 14, because it coincides with the expected French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s state visit to Algeria as by December. Medef did not give any further information concerning its visit new date.
“The visit of Employers’ delegation to Algeria was deliberately postponed in order to benefit from the new wind the bilateral relationships between Algeria and France is to get following Sarkozy’s visit”, a communiqué signed by MEDEF International’s Vice-President, Managing Director Thierry Courtaigne mentioned.
The same communiqué, of which El Khabar got a copy, revealed that Medef has prepared a secret memorandum on business climate improvement as well as obstacles that hinder French companies’ investment in Algeria.
The memorandum is to be submitted to the French presidency after being updated during the meeting of Medef’s Algeria committee scheduled on October 19.
